Canadian Securities Exchange Presents Mining Over Canada

October 19, 2020 – Toronto, ON – The Canadian Securities Exchange (“CSE” or “the Exchange”) is pleased to announce the launch of Mining Over Canada, a comprehensive multimedia overview of the Canadian mining industry. The special event, which begins this week and continues through November, is presented by the CSE and sponsored by MNP LLP, Odyssey Trust, Gowling WLG, and Kitco Media.

Mining Over Canada will highlight the importance of the industry to the Canadian economy and to our everyday lives by showcasing key mining and exploration regions across the nation. The series begins with Quebec and Atlantic Canada (October 19-23), followed by Ontario (October 26-30), the Canadian Shield (November 2-6), Northern Territories (November 9-13), and British Columbia (November 16-20). Participants will learn about the geography, history, and future of these regions, presented through the lens of the companies operating on the ground. The series will also address important issues facing the sector, such as environmental regulation, operational safety, and Indigenous engagement. Information will be provided through all of the CSE’s media channels, including its YouTube channel (youtube.com/csetv), and Instagram feed (@CanadianExchange).

Mining Over Canada will culminate on November 24 with a series of virtual panel discussions with leading industry experts including Frank Holmes (U.S. Global Investors), Rick Rule (Sprott U.S. Holdings), Gwen Preston (Resource Maven), Kai Hoffmann (Soar Financial Partners), and Adrian Day (Adrian Day Asset Management).

“Mining is a cornerstone of Canada, and it is a cornerstone of the Canadian Securities Exchange. The CSE exists in large part because our country is rich in mineral resources and full of bright entrepreneurs determined to find them,” said Richard Carleton, CEO of the CSE.

“The sector is heating up this year with the rise in gold prices, and investors are keen to learn more and find new investment opportunities. We see Mining Over Canada as an opportunity to present the industry to a whole new generation of investors that may not be as familiar with it as their parents and grandparents. We are confident that participants will come away from Mining Over Canada with far more knowledge about the industry and a greater appreciation for why it matters.”

The CSE is currently home to 179 mining issuers, which have raised a cumulative $376 million to date in 2020.
